Tuition fees for HySafe Members involved in staff development for the delivery of educational/training programmes will be paid from the Hysafe budget. At the 9th HySafe Network Governing Board (NGB) Meeting held on 12 March 2008 at the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique, Paris, France, the NGB ratified the following decision “We support the inclusion of past and future tuition fees for the enrolment of HySafe Partner Members onto higher educational course(s) in hydrogen safety into the HySafe Partner’s Budget.”

The procedure for calculating the HySafe contribution to the tuition fees of a Hysafe Member is as follows.

Firstly, note that:

(i)   The tuition fees for non-EU learners are different from those for EU-learners. Bursaries may be awarded to non-EU learners to study the course at the rates for EU learners. See Section "Bursaries for non-EU students to study the course at EU-rates" of the PgCert/PgDip/MSc in Hydrogen Safety Engineering for more information.
(ii)   The tuition fees are given in the second and third row of the table below.
(iii)   The tuition fees are based on the costs to enrol on the modules of the course. Refer to Section "Module Listings, Credits & Fees" of the PgCert/PgDip/MSc in Hydrogen Safety Engineering for more information.

(a)   The Final Award Master of Science in Hydrogen Safety (requiring 180 CATS Points) is conferred onto those who have successfully completed the four modules Principles of Hydrogen Safety (30 CATS Points), Applied Hydrogen Safety (30 CATS Points), Progress in Hydrogen Safety (60 CATS Points), and Dissertation (60 CATS Points).
(b)   The Exit Award Postgraduate Diploma in Hydrogen Safety (requiring 120 CATS Points) is conferred onto those who have successfully completed the three modules Principles of Hydrogen Safety (30 CATS Points), Applied Hydrogen Safety (30 CATS Points), and Progress in Hydrogen Safety (60 CATS Points).
(c)   The Exit Award Postgraduate Certificate in Hydrogen Safety (requiring 60 CATS Points) is conferred onto those who have successfully completed the two modules Principles of Hydrogen Safety (30 CATS Points) and Applied Hydrogen Safety (30 CATS Points).

Secondly, note that the HySafe-funding per person month for each partner is given in euro in the second column of the table below and that an exchange rate of 1 £ = 1.40 € is used.

Thirdly, the cost in terms of person months for each HySafe Partner to enrol one person may be obtained by dividing the above tuition fees by the funding per person month. This leads to:
