Hydrogen release, mixing and distribution

Objectives

  • Develop methodology for evaluation of hydrogen release, mixing and distribution phenomena.
  • Scan existing experimental database on hydrogen release.
  • Support the network activities by providing input on hydrogen release phenomena

Description of work

Sub-task 8.1. Scan data for SBEP

Partners will scan and prepare existing data on hydrogen release for submission to SBEP. Sources of information will be the scientific literature, previous EC-hydrogen-related projects (EIHP, EIHP2) as well as the data of partners, who are willing to share their data within the network. Lead: NCSRD, Partners: CEA, INERIS, HSE/HSL, GexCon, FZK, DNV, NH, FZJ, TNO, UU

Sub-task 8.2 Proposals for tests / other activities

Partners will work on formulation of proposals for future experimental work and submission to WP7. Proposals for tests will include cases of slow releases of hydrogen in confined and semi-confined geometry (CEA, INERIS), medium pressure releases (HSE/HSL), high-pressure releases (GexCon, NH, TNO), structure of turbulent jets (FZK). Other priorities may be identified.

Sub-task 8.3. Detail future work.

All partners will perform a critical assessment of WP8 progress using input from WP7 to detail future activities.
